| Matt & Vicki Bichelmeyer, established Bichelmeyer's Steakhouse in April 2000 after spending several years as owners of Bichelmeyer's Meat and Grocery in Tonganoxie, Kansas. The Grocery Store offered Groceries, a Meat Market and Catering. After several years in the business, the small town grocery store could no longer compete with the larger chain stores, and the Meat Market and Catering part of the business was taking over. Matt Bichelmeyer had a dream of opening a Steakhouse Restaurant. Vicki , Matts wife worked for many years for the Gilbert-Robinson Restaurant chain, helping open new Restaurants for the group, and also as a Server and Corporate Trainer at the Bristol Bar and Grill on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they combined their skills, and opened Bichelmeyer's Steakhouse, located in the Historical Building the grocery store had occupied prior. The Bichelmeyer Meat Market located at 701 Cheyenne Ave, Kansas City, Kansas opened in 1946. The Market is still in operation today and is owned and operated by Joe and Jim Bichelmeyer. Matt's father and mother, Leo and Mary Bichelmeyer owned Bichelmeyer's Meat Market in Desoto, Kansas from 1959 to 1971. Matt has three brothers, Gary, Lee and Mark, all three are also experienced Meat Cutters. Matt's two sisters, Linda and Diane live in Springhill, Kansas Vicki Selby Bichelmeyer, is the daughter of Norman Eugene Selby and Mary Lou Freeman, She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, and Moved to Tonganoxie, several years ago. Vicki comes from a large family. She has six sisters and one brother. BICHELMEYER'S KNOW BEEF! They are well known for their knowledge in the business.
